Nice Knowing You
Nice Knowing You is a hilarious look at dating for thirty- and forty-somethings and beyond, and a refreshing voice for those of us who have been through the dating minefields and are a little tired of all the tiptoeing and cringing. Topics include bar-hopping, how to handle multiple partners, how to handle no partners, and even Facebook Displays of Affection (FDAs), but that is by no means a complete list. Mr. Torcivia shares his observations about women, men, women who act like men, and men who act like women, people who act like morons, swingers, drunk texters, and toe length (yes, that matters!). The artwork in this book is cute and relevant - hats off to Anna V. Chastain, as well.
This book works because:
- Phil Torcivia has the ability to say what we're all really thinking without being bitter or angry (mostly).
- His observations are very funny without being demeaning (mostly).
- As has been noted many times, the best humor begins with the truth. Mr. Torcivia writes the truth in a conversational and light-hearted way.
